Experience: 10 yrs
My past experience includes working as a recreational therapy assistant in a day center for seniors (and their families) dealing with dementia, Alzheimer, and similar. I also have experience working as a nursing assistant in both a residential environment, as well as in a nursing home. My duties included toileting, transfers, medication administration, showers, assistance with mealtime, wound care/dressing, charting, care planning, and activity planning and implementation. Working with and for people is my passion.

Jill worked for us from the time our son was four months old until he was six years old. He really benefited from Jill's approach to childcare. She's an easygoing and calm presence, and she provided a stimulating and caring network for our son. She made his life part of hers, so she took him on playdates with her friends' kids, took him to swim lessons, picked him up from school and took him back to her place to play with the dogs. She also pitched in to make our family life run more smoothly: she went grocery shopping, went on Target runs, and even had our son stay overnight at her place every once in a while to give us a date night. Her friendship circles of moms and kids became his friendship circles, and that really benefited him. She provided a rich and seamless network of care for him to move back and forth between our households. My partner and I both have pretty intense jobs, and it was a comfort to know that our son was getting a lot of great social interaction especially with other kids than we had the energy for during the week. It worked great for our family, although I realize it wouldn't be everyone's preference. Jill has great ideas; she gets to know kids and seeks to enrich their lives. When she was taking care of our son, he always came first. What was best about Jill was the confidence in knowing that she was fully on board as part of the team; whatever we needed, she would work to provide.
