Hi there! My name is Jessica, I am 26 years-old and I have enjoyed working with children for the past 7 years, both as a nanny and as a MCPS interpreter. During this time I've had the privilege of working with a variety of different ages, (newborns to teenagers) and personalities. This has given me the skills to problem solve different situations and know how to best confront each child's unique set of needs. I have an A. A in American Sign Language and recently received my B. A. in ASL Interpreting. I am fluent is English, Spanish and ASL and I love sharing those languages with the kids I work with. Some of my hobbies are art and reading, which I use to create a fun and learning environment. My duties while working with the families included driving, picking up, assisting with homework, meal prep, tidying up and just being a companion/play mate, also I have been vaccinated for COVID-19. I cannot say enough good things about Jessy. She took care of our son for several months (between the ages of 3 months and 8 months) for 2-3 days a week. She is kind, dependable, experienced, trustworthy, calm, unflappable, hard-working, and intuitive. As soon as she would arrive in the mornings, she would first read to our older sons (3 and 5, who LOVED her) as they ate breakfast before school, and the rest of the day, she would care for the baby while we worked from home or went into the office. She helped to sleep train the baby, who is now super easy to put down for bed and naps. She also read to him throughout the day or would carry him around whenever he got fussy (which was often). We were working from home a good deal, so we were able to see first hand how wonderful Jessy was with the baby all day long. She was a pleasure to be around and to have as part of our family for the short time period that we needed her. We would not hesitate to hire Jessy again. She's a superstar.
