About Jessica

Hi there! I'm a 14-year veteran teacher with experience teaching 6th and 8th grade academics, as well as serving students in special education for 5 years, teaching English language arts for students in grades 5-12, and working as a substitute teacher for kids from pre-k to 8th grade. My teaching licensure is for English and communication arts, grades 5-12. My bachelor's degrees are in English education, creative and professional writing, as well as extensive graduate coursework in technical communication. I also have over 10 years' experience caring for adults and children with physical and cognitive disabilities in group home settings, in addition to caring for elders who need general help, or dementia care in their home. I'm detail-oriented, creative, and fun. I'm looking for a job that fulfills my sense of purpose and allows me to be of service to my community. In my spare time, I like to read, write, hike, camp, fish, kayak, snowshoe, and garden.
