About Jessica

I'd describe my personality as calm, nurturing, and uplifting. My natural interest in caring for children started at age 12 when I took a babysitter certification course at the YMCA. As a teenager, I was employed as a babysitter and by a daycare. In my early twenties, I was a full-time nanny to twin toddlers. In my thirties, I was an elementary school substitute teacher for 1 year and a high school art teacher for 6 years. Today, I have a pretty awesome 13-year-old of my own :) I love the outdoors and look forward to spending time with your little one/s walking and playing in the fresh air! My interests include art, singing, weight lifting, and yoga. I spent many years as an avid kickboxer. Today, I am a Reiki/ Shamanic energy healing practitioner. My caretaking skills include patience, compassion, communication, and organization. I was lifeguard for 3 years and am happy to renew my CPR certification.

Jessica was my nanny for my toddler twins about 15 years ago. I was always confident that she prioritized my kids’ safety and well-being. I trusted her to drive the kids to various activities and she always dove in on the fun with them. She always had great eye contact with me and the kids, which I think is very important. She listened, understood, and could think creatively and responsibly. She may seem to have a quiet demeanor, but don’t let that fool you— she is internally (and physically) very strong. She will be your stand-in “momma bear” without a doubt. Her calming effect is great on kids. Jess has an art background and taught art in school for a number of years. She is also a talented photographer (weddings and portraits) who has taken our family Christmas card photo. She has a very kind heart.
