My name is Jessica I am a 23-year-old whose hair sometimes changes colors the best part? Children think I'm a mermaid or fairy! :) I'm a college student majoring in early childhood education at BMCC. My goal is to be the most goofy.. Silly caring teacher to all those little ones anxious to learn about the world. I did my student teaching (practicum) at a dual language school in a 4's class (They were amazing). I had magical jewelry that had the power to make anyone who wear it smile and change hair color! The took turns wearing it. Some of the children were special needs and I felt a connection with them. I think special needs children need more attention, affection and patience from adults. In the future ... I'm thinking of transferring to the four year college on January 2016! I would like to continue in education my favorite part is that this college offers a B. A. in Child Study that prepares students for New York State teaching certification in four areas within one department: Early Childhood (birth-second grade), Childhood (first-sixth grade), Early Childhood: Students with Disabilities (birth-second grade) and Childhood: Students with Disabilities (first-sixth grade).
