About Jessica

Hello! My name is Jessica M. I graduated from Western Washington University on 12/14/2024, with a degree in elementary education, sociology major. I will soon receive my WA state teaching license! To supplement any substitute teaching jobs I get, I am looking for childcare on the side to gain more experience taking care of kids. As part of my teaching program at WWU, I completed a year-long student teaching internship with 1st graders. During that, I would plan & execute lessons on all subjects, collaborate with other teachers in the building, and build meaningful relationships with all of my students. I also did a few different practicums as part of the program too, before student teaching. I had one where I created science lessons for 2nd graders, one for teaching writing lessons to 5th/6th graders, and one on helping a student with her literacy skills. Also, during my senior year of high school (fall 2018 - Dec 2019), I worked at an after school daycare/preschool.
