For the past 10+ years I have worked for a non-profit company in their residential department for adults with intellectual and developmental delay. I am fist aid, CPR, and Massachusetts MAP certified as well as trained in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI). I am trained in safe transfers as well as transfer aids (slide boards, hoyer lifts) mobility devices (electric/manual wheelchair, Canadian crutches, canes, walkers, rollators) and G-Tube feeding. Throughout my years I have done direct care as well as management. This means I am well versed in handling doctors appointments, medications, staffing, and family interactions. I am also trained in assisting all ADL's (activities of daily living; feeding, bathing, dressing, transportation, meal prep, etc.). I love being able to help those who need it, whether it's just some help cutting up a meal or providing full assistance to shower. There is no task too small that we can't make easier for someone who needs a little extra support.
