About Jessica

I'd describe my personality as tough, motivated, and sincere. I like caring for seniors because I am a family oriented type of person. I would want my family cared for by someone like me, like I care for my grandmother. Seniors have great experience and stories, and spending time with them reminds me of spending time with my family. I started caring for seniors when I was a teen. I would volunteer at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation. I would visit and keep company with the seniors and play games. When I truly began caring for seniors was when I volunteered to take care of my grandmother due to unexpected health conditions. During this time I gained a lot of skills in the caregiving field such as ostomy care, medication management, physical stamina, observation, patient care skills, vital signs, communication, and patience. My skills include listening, patience, and organization. I believe my observation skills is also a critical skill to have when caring for others.
