Hello! My name is Jessica and I have been in Denver for about 7 years. I have about 12 years of experience working with kids from ages 1-17. Additionally, I worked with a nanny agency in Chicago (where I'm originally from), and prior to that I served with AmeriCorps for 2 years on opposite coasts. As my work and volunteer experiences reflect, I love working with kids! I began babysitting at age 12 and continued to do so on a casual basis for neighbors and friends throughout high school and college. My BA is in psychology, and I have training and experience in a variety of early childhood development areas, including but not limited to working with children on the Autism spectrum, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), and dialog reading. Jessica volunteered in our YMCA literacy program for low income children ages 6 to 12, despite the fact that she was also doing a year of service with Americorps at another organization! I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable and wonderful with the children. She was very reliable, despite being very busy with her other position and school and did a great job helping the kids make progress in their reading. We will miss having her with us next year!
