I cared for a 7-year-old girl who is cognitively delayed and nonverbal. I assist her with her eye gaze device so she can communicate with me. I also use sign language as a means to communicate with her. I mostly use one to two word signs. i. e. play, stand up, sit down, nap time, outside, etc. I was responsible for feeding, diaper changes, repositioning her/lifting her in and out of chairs and up steps, bathing, activities, etc. I am able to provide a fun and safe learning environment and tailor to each child's needs.
