About Jessica

Hi! I am Jess, a mom and full-time Couple and Family Therapy grad student. When I am not in class, I hope to provide childcare to families in my area at their home or in my own. My earliest paid childcare experiences were babysitting for families from ages 13-23. I cared for anywhere from 3-8 children per family with children as young as 9 months and as old as 13. After high school, I worked as a teacher's aide in special education preschool classrooms. I also ran a bilingual after school tutoring program primarily serving elementary and middle school students. My paid and unpaid labor endeavors have developed strong skills in: 1) Communication - listening actively, explaining things clearly, and engaging in meaningful conversations; 2) Problem-solving - Handling conflicts between people, adapting to unexpected situations; and 3) Emotional stability - Keeping calm in stressful situations, naming and recognizing feelings, modeling empathy.
