Jessica was a wonderful addition to our lives for 6-7 months when I went back to work full time after maternity leave. At the time, our daughter was 6 months old and we needed someone to come and care for her while my husband and I worked from home. Jessica brought her medical knowledge (as a trained nurse), her warmth and compassion and intelligence, and her wealth of childcare experience, making us feel supported as new parents as we returned to our jobs. Every day without fail, Jessica was attentive and loving to our daughter, in addition to going out of her way to help us keep on top of household chores and tasks. She even spent her free time running errands for us, researching childcare questions we had, and helping us find resources we needed. Our daughter felt loved and safe with Jessica, and to this day, I am so grateful that her first experience with a caregiver who was not her parents was so positive. I think it helped build our daughter's confidence and sense of belonging.
