I have always had love for kids with special needs and that all started from a very young age. Growing up I spent the summers camping with family friends that has a girl with down syndrome. In addition to just hanging out with her I also helped her with school. Once I entered High school I started babysitting a family once a week that has three girls with special needs. After I graduated High school I started watching the girls weeks at a time while there parents were gone on vacation. I worked daily in a elementary school for five years where there was daily interaction with kids with both mental and emotional disabilities. In addition to my personal experience, My dad and sister are both special education teachers so it is something I am well educated with.
