As a latina in a city with much student underrepresentation, I decided to conduct my own research and really dive into what education departments were being affected the most. In my findings, I found that children on the spectrum received little to no funding, giving the teachers minimal resources to help. This is when I discovered my path in life and found a way I could make a difference in my community. I looked for jobs in schools and day cares but realized it starts at home so I hopped on here, hoping to gain some experience in my field. Finally, I came across V, an extraordinary young boy that completely changed my life. V is a 10-year-old boy with autism that stole my heart and ignited my teaching spirit. He taught me that every child, on the spectrum or not, is special and requires special attention and that nanny's play such an important role in their life: their life long friend, confidant, and advocate. All I want to do is help families while learning everyday!
