I'm the person at the party who you can find on the floor hanging out with the host's cat or dog. I started cat sitting 8 years ago and have experience staying in clients' homes with their cats for extended periods of time, feeding (including special diets, supplements), administering medications including pills and IV fluids, cleaning and changing the litter box, as well as playing with and petting cats who are more social. I generally stay in clients' homes while I'm watching their cat, or I stop by once or twice a day for feedings and to clean the litterbox. I understand cat behavior, so I take precautions to prevent things from getting knocked over or broken and don't leave small objects or toxic-to-cats items around that could be ingested by the cat. I'm conscientious about locking doors and turning off appliances and lights. I'm also very careful when coming and going, as cats can be escape artists!
