I am a Manager of 2 group home that serve individuals with developmental disabilities (all of them on the Autism Spectrum) and severe behavioral issues. In 2006 I started to become fascinated with autism when I began working with a non-verbal 17-year-old with very severe self-injurious behavior. I started to self-educate and he began to respond well to me. I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology. I attend many trainings and am on an Autism Committee. I made a tremendous difference in this young man's life. He went from 8000 hits to his head and body a week to about one a month. Autism can be puzzling, but those who are affected are truly amazing people. I strive to continue to make a difference in people's lives. I have always been that person for many of the difficult clients that we serve. Not sure why but they always respond so well to me. I have experience with many diffferent disabilities and health conditions.
