I started working with special needs when I became a part time caregiver for a little girl with autism. I was told I didn't need any experience working with special needs because I would only be working for the family for 2 hours every morning, getting both kids off to school. I became very close with the kids and family and learned that I had a real passion for working with kids with special needs. The little girl I was nannying for and I became very close and I wanted to be better equipped to help her. I left the family and was hired by a behavioral therapist company called Abrite. I received 40 hours of training and then went on to have clients as a behavioral therapist. I found that behavioral therapy wasn't for me, I really missed the closeness of being a nanny. I returned as a full time nanny for above family and stayed with them for 3 years until I landed a job in LA working with a 5-year-old with autism. I love what I do and have a real passion for it.
