My mother moved in with us when she began experiencing memory lapses and confusion in her environment in her 60s. Following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, I became her primary caregiver, managing her daily activities, medication, and meals. Over time, additional health complications further impacted her cognitive and physical abilities, leading to incontinence and the need for a wheelchair. Despite her declining health, she remained at home with us into her 80s, receiving comprehensive care until hospice provided in-home support during the final months of her life. Caring for a loved one can be incredibly demanding, both emotionally and physically. Primary caregivers need more than just help with their loved one's care - they also need time to actively prioritize their own health and well-being. I'm readily available to provide company, help with errands and meal preparation, or any other light tasks you may need.
