My experience with senior care started with my grandmother. She was wheelchair bound with dementia. I used to take care of her out of her house and as she declined we moved her into my home. She was with me for over 5 years and I cared for her 24/7. Duties included companionship, feeding her, help with hygiene, transferring her, re-positioning her so she remained pressure sore free, transporting her to doctor visits, ordering/administering her medicine, making sure she was safe/comfortable and meeting with the nurse/home health care for weekly visits. When she passed away I cared for her in her final days with the help of hospice so I do have experience in the hospice process as well. For the last couple years I've been taking care of a woman who has dementia and Parkinson's, she lives in a assisted living facility so I have experience with that setting as well. I have great references and my psychology degree from Roosevelt University.
