I work on an intermediate care unit within the hospital setting. The patient population primarily consists of seniors with a variety of health conditions, but I frequently care for adults of all ages. Oftentimes, my patients have cognitive, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges. I'm a mom of 4 kids and one doggo. My children are not super young (the days are long but the years are so so fast!). I have one AuDHD son, and my daughter is autistic as well. I have had the privilege of navigating life with these fantastic humans, to include behavioral challenges, and advocating for them within the public school special education system.
