I am the youngest of 4 siblings and I never had any grandparents growing up, which made me always have a desire for elderly people in my life. When I started working as a Physical Therapy Tech, my love for geriatrics grew stronger and stronger. The PT's would even notice it and send me specifically to work with them when they came in because they knew how much I loved them. A lot of seniors have a reputation of being "grumpy and miserable" but I like to take on the job of making sure that goes away whenever I work with them. Everyone has a soft spot and it is so simple to brighten that person's day just by treating them with kindness and respect. I am currently on the pre-nursing track at USF and plan to go into geriatrics when I become a nurse, and this job is a perfect beginning to the future of my career.
