My background working with special needs children and adults started early with my younger sister diagnosed with MR at birth. Later, I became a mother with a daughter diagnosed with dyslexia and then was a paraprofessional and personal care assistant. I was blessed to care for children and adults with various disabilities such as MR, autism, ADHD, spina bifida, ED, the seeing impaired and Alzheimer's. I am currently a paraprofessional working with both the general ed and special ed population of middle school students. I am trained to work with all ages from newborn to 90! In addition, I am a youth teacher for our church and I will be teaching our 9 to 12-year-olds at a Bible school for a week this summer. My other qualifications include missionary work, Sunday school teacher, and rehabilitation attendant II.
