About Jen

I started tutoring back in 2005. I had just graduated from Saint Mary's of Notre Dame and I was investigating different career choices. I applied to Valparaiso University for a Masters in English Language Arts, but I received a phone call asking if I would be interested in a new program that was attached to the Masters of English and Communication degree: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I am a licensed professional teacher for grades Pre K-12. I hold MAs in English Studies and Communication, Teaching, and TESOL respectively. I have been teaching English writing, grammar, and reading comprehension for over 5 years. I absolutely love teaching in any capacity because it is very encouraging to see when a student's hard work pays off! However, now that it's summer, I have a lot of time on my hands. School is out, and so my dance company takes a three month break. I like to stay sharp with my teaching skills by finding people and places that can use my services. During the summer of 2014, I worked for the Duneland YMCA as the assistant to the lead teacher of the 2-year-old students. I hope to work with you and your family this summer!
