I started caring for people with special needs when my mother got sick with dementia in 2015. When she passed in 2020, I took some time to grieve. 6 months later I began working with children, teens, and adults who have mental disabilities. As a direct support professional, I maintain medical records, administer medications, attend doctors appointments, de-escalate high behaviors, encourage the use of coping skills, help identify triggers, and maintain client home. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my son, go to the gym, and cook. One thing you should know about me is Ive always been deep empath. I connect deeply with others feelings, needs and emotions. I am dedicated and loyal to any position or task offered to me. I take care giving very serious, as I know what it feels like to experience trauma, to be alone while doing so, to be discarded and judged because of actions or thinking that is a direct result of illness. I have so much love and understanding to give.
