I have a passion for working with individuals with special needs of ALL ages. Not only do I enjoy working with children, I do enjoy working with the elderly as well. Currently I am working at an elementary school as a special educational assistant, and have been there for 8 years. Prior to my current job, I was a stay at home mom for 13 years raising four boys who are now 20- 14 years old. Prior to being a stay at home mom, I worked full time for nine years as a recreational therapist at a special recreation association in Illinois. I am limited to what I can work during the school year, but wide opened for summer. I am also opened to caring for children overnight occasionally. I also have been doing respite care for a family who has a daughter with special needs for over 25 years.
