Janet B. has been a friend of our family for over 30 years. Last year my mother's independence was in jeopardy as her vascular dementia took over. We were in that stage where we knew we had to place her in a home, as it just wasn't safe for her to be on her own, but we didn't want to rush the process. Although my sisters and I live 1/2 hour away, we were only able to provide adequate daytime care on the weekends. Mom was losing weight, mixing up meds and crying because she just couldn't figure anything out. Janet, while in the midst of her own family health crisis, came to our rescue and worked with mom about 4 days a week to be sure she was was eating. She walked with her, looked at old pictures over and over again, gave her her meds and helped her around the house. All the while making mom feel like a friend was visiting. Janet never made her feel inadequate or "less than". That is the type of person she is. I am the director of a non-profit that is primarily focused around care-givers. I can tell you that what Janet is able to do for a family is what every family caring for a loved one needs. She is dependable, conscientious, hardworking, compassionate and funny! People love her. We have moved mom into an Alzheimer's/Dementia specialty home, but we are forever grateful for the love and the time that Janet gave to our sweet mom. I would not hesitate to recommend Janet for any caregiver position. And by the way, she is a LPN, so that is a little bonus!
