About Janella

I have a Master's in General and Special Education from Brooklyn College and a degree in Disability Studies from Springfield College. I am a New York State certified General and Special Education teacher. I currently teach at a public charter school in Brooklyn as a reading specialist. I have experience working with students in grades K-4, and a particular interest in literacy and reading instruction. I have many years of experience working with children and a background in working with students with special needs. Reading is a magical experience that can take you places you never dreamed of. It is also the key to unlocking potential in and opening doors to everyone. I love teaching reading, and I love helping students discover the joy of reading. I am most passionate in helping students who have struggled with reading unlock this joy and really learn to love reading.
