Hi! I'm Charlie (Jane for legal purposes, but Charlie everywhere else!) I offer homework help and tutoring in just about any subject, centering your child's unique interests, talents, and needs. I have a wide range of teaching and tutoring experience, including: - Tutoring K-5 students in reading using best practices in literacy; - Teaching undergraduate students music theory, history, and writing; - And teaching adult learners the fundamentals of software development, supporting them one-on-one with labs and projects. Most importantly, I believe in fostering a growth mindset in students by celebrating effort instead of innate ability, encouraging self-compassion, and helping them find the "sweet spot" of difficulty that allows them to stretch their abilities without becoming overwhelmed.
