My name is Kaleigh, and I have found my life's calling in special education. I am currently a Special Education - Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist major at Ohio State University, and I am going into my third year of the program this fall. In my major, I have had to complete over 110 hours of observation in different special education classrooms, but my primary experience was in a K-2nd grade classroom. I love being around children with special needs because they see the world differently, and each child is extremely different. They have their own personalities, their own set of needs, and their own set of skills and interests. A lot of people in our society look down on those with special needs; but I would like to show the children that I work with that they are different in a good way. They are just as unique as you and I are, and they can do whatever they put their minds to - they just may need a little more help getting there.
