I have been a caregiver for as long as I can remember. My level of care has increased with need and education/experience. I was an Army Medic for 12 years. I provided nursing home level care to my grandpa at home for 5 years. I did everything from meals to bathing, med management, personal hygiene, mobility assistance, wound care, and appointments. After he passed, I started working with individuals with developmental disabilities and TBIs, where I did all the same, plus feeding and altering diets/drinks. I also worked at an alternative care facility while in college for a while and provided care for those with alzheimers and dementia. I have provided care for a couple of people through the end of life. I enjoy seniors and listening to their life stories and experience.
