About James

Hi! My name is James and I am a 23-year-old filmmaker and narrative arts student at the Art Students League of New York. My tutoring experience began with aiding my two younger brothers in their schoolwork and expanded during COVID to operating a study environment for a pod of high schoolers who were struggling due to the isolation of online schooling. To simulate school I would take attendance and help them with a wide range of classwork. I have 3 years of experience creating individual and group lessons for children ages 6-13 in arts, crafts, comics, and filmmaking. I also have 3 years of experience working with children and teens with developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional through JMMurray, which included tutoring amongst holistic care and through Backyard Players and Friends developing and teaching group art lessons. My proudest life moments come from seeing the creativity and talent of my students, filling me with great hope for the next generation.
