I have been working with children for a total of 8 years. I have worked with children from two months and up and I have a daughter. I currently work as an assistant in the Special Education Department with Palmdale School District. For the past 3 years, I have been working with children with special needs. I started in the speech classroom working with various needs of the children. A few months later I transferred to work as a one-on-one assistant to a student with cerebral palsy. My student was in a wheelchair and could not bare weight while standing. I assisted with activities in the classroom, outside playground activities, and I assisted with transferring and wiping while using the restroom.
