About Jacquelyn

I'd describe my personality as patient, kind, creative I like tutoring because I enjoy creating alternate ways to help students learn a skill, as well as providing strategies for them to use in class. I enjoy working one on one to target specific skills and I do so in a variety of ways. I have been a special education teacher for three decades, and have worked individually with students in the school setting as well as sporadically tutoring outside of school. One thing you should know about me is that I like to provide visual and hands on materials, models, and trials. I understand that students all have individual needs and styles of learning, and utilize a variety of strategies to help each student learn . I consider attention span and sensory needs, importance of movement, mini breaks, learning disguised as a game, and frequent reinforcement and encouragement .
