About Jacob

Hi! I'm from CA & love theatre, cooking, reading, traveling, learning, and hiking! I have four + years experience working and assistant teaching for a CA school district, particularly in moderate/severe & mild/moderate special education classes. I moved to NYC in Jan. 2020 & nannied for a wonderful family and their two boys-- tutoring and teaching amidst COVID-19 remote learning. The past year and a half I have worked at a private elementary school, where I've had the opportunity to observe and learn alongside skilled educators, working hands on in an array of different subjects & classes. I attend CUNY City College where I study Psychology, taking classes in child/human development & child therapy. I am CPR/First Aid trained & certified, have a strong background in restorative practices, and have a list of references who can speak towards my strengths/skills, patience, & love for working with children/teaching.
