About Jacklyn

Hello! I am a second-grade teacher at Morriss elementary and a mother myself. I have a lot of experience working with children, and I love what I do. In the past, I have taught adult basic education (GED, college prep tests, and other foundational literacy skills), co-created and coordinated an afterschool reading program, taught high-school Spanish I, and taught in a middle school math intervention classroom. In my own educational journey, I have served as Student Government Association President at Texarkana College, created an SGA Executive Board Scholarship for future members, and received an Educational Leadership Foundations award with the Texas Association of Future Educators.
