I worked in a group home for adults with disabilities for two years. I am first-aid trained, would be willing to re-certify for CPR. Have experience providing medication, bathing/showering, dressing, helping with toileting. I bring a positive attitude, know that everyday is a new day, and am patient and love helping people progress towards their goals. In fact, in my group home experience, I always tried to help my clients be more independent and reach their goals - whether it was helping with financial choices or brushing their teeth. No goal is too small and certainly, no goal is too big. Also have experience with those who self-injure, including blocking methods. My only boundary is I am not willing to work with violent clients - whether sexually violent or physically violent to the point of danger. I do not mind pinching, slapping, hits, or biting risk, but actual, physically dangerous situations. Would be willing to talk more to clarify if needed!
