About Ismail

Ismail is passionate about sharing his love for organic chemistry with students of all levels, from elementary through university. His journey began at 17 at The Scripps Research Institute, where he shifted from biochemistry to organic chemistry, eventually contributing to the development of Sotorasib, an innovative anti-cancer drug. With over 13 years of teaching experience, Ismail is currently an adjunct lecturer at Southern California University of Health Sciences. He has redesigned the curriculum for a 5-week format and introduced green chemistry alternatives. Previously, he served as a graduate TA at CSUn and an undergraduate TA at the UCSD. He is also pursuing a PhD at UCLA. Ismail's teaching philosophy focuses on providing timely feedback and making organic chemistry engaging and rewarding. He is eager to offer his tutoring services, guiding students to success with his extensive experience and expertise.
