I am soon to be teacher. I am hoping to get a Special Education job in Pennsylvania. I am certified Pre-12 Special Education. I have been in an life skills setting classroom, where I worked with middle school students. I have been in an alternative school classroom, where I worked with more severe disabilities (Autism and Down Syndrome Life Skills Classroom). Lastly, I worked in an inclusion learning support classroom for elementary students. I have babysat two children on the Autism Spectrum for the past year. I understand the need for Specially Designed Instruction, IEP goals, and Least Restrictive Environment. I have been in IEP meetings, develop my own IEP for students, and work on their goals. I love working with children and watching them become more independent. Lastly, I was involved in Special Olympics held at Geneva College. This was an opportunity where I assisted students to do Track and Field activities and be a companion to them. This was one of my favorite things I did!
