In 10th grade, I started working at SNACK, an afterschool and weekend activity center for kids and teens with ASD and other mental disabilities. We had different classes ranging from soccer and basketball to music and yoga. I also worked as a full-time nanny for a 2-year-old girl with mental and physical disabilities. I learned how to help her with physical and occupational therapy throughout every day, and I brought her to music and speech therapy appointments. It was an absolutely incredible experience, and I hope to continue doing similar work in the future.
