I have been doing this work for at least 20 years. I took care of two bedridden persons. One person after hip surgery, after stroke and a few with Alzheimer's and one with dementia. A brother with cancer, dad after head trauma and mom with lung disease. A few with diabetes and high blood pressure. One lady with ms who used a wheelchair. I get to know the person as well as the family. It is a demanding job with great recompense. I get to have memories with the elders who become grandma or grandpa. That's what makes it so rewarding.
