About Ian

As a dedicated educator and youth advocate, I bring a wealth of experience in physical education, youth program development, and community engagement. My background includes over five years as a Youth Basketball Referee with the East Bay Basketball Officials Association, where I honed my communication skills and developed a strong understanding of sportsmanship and teamwork. Additionally, I held the position of Youth and Family Assistant Director at the Downtown Oakland YMCA, where I created innovative programs that met community needs and helped families thrive. With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University, I have a solid foundation in physical education and wellness. My experiences as a tutor at Eureka Public School and Camp Director at South Valley YMCA have further strengthened my ability to connect with youth and support their academic and personal growth.
