I was born and raised in Durham. When I'm not babysitting, I enjoy reading, shopping, and hanging out with my friends. I don't smoke and I have my own car. I am allergic to cats. I'm very encouraging when it comes to reading and I believe I can make reading fun. There's so much to learn out there and books are one of the best ways to learn many of those things. As for screen time, watching kids movies and educational shows are fine, but just sitting on the couch and watching more than 2 hours of TV at a time isn't healthy for a little kid who should be running outside and using their imagination. Ms. Holly has cared for my child both as a teacher and a babysitter for the last almost four years, since my now four year old was an infant. Ms. Holly is caring, trustworthy and respectful. Above all she loves children and attends not only to their safety and well-being, but also to their development as creative thinkers and friends. Ms. Holly noticed aspects of our daughter's personality (e.g. a love for music--especially rhythm), that we thought we recognized, but because of Ms. Holly's expertise, we were able to work with our daughter to develop in more creative ways. Ms. Holly taught our daughter for approximately three years, while also spending a few hours of an evening most weeks with her. Far beyond a typical babysitter, Ms. Holly never failed to bring craft projects, music, games, or puzzles not simply to entertain, but to encourage our daughter to develop skills and emotional intelligence appropriate to her age and development. We are grateful for Ms. Holly's many gifts.
