My experience working with people who have special needs started over 25 years ago when I worked with a nonprofit hippotherapy organization. That first interaction showed me how important it is to treat people like people and not as a diagnosis. Years later, my son was diagnosed with special needs, and I had to learn quickly how to meet his unique needs. I have experience with medication management (I have my CNA and CMA), how to use vest therapy, cough assist (and ambu bag), suction, care for feeding tubes, colostomy care, diabetic care, ADLs, transferring, and much more. I am also trained to use equipment such as accessible vehicles, hoyer lifts, and hospital beds. I enjoy helping and getting to know others.
