There are not sufficient words to describe what Holli has meant to our family, to our mom and to us as daughters over the past several years but I will try to list the tangible ones here so you can get a sense of her skill set. She was our partner in our mother’s years-long care providing her with endless support consisting of companionship, advanced physical aide, running of her household, cooking, pet support, errand running, yard beautification, and love. We lovingly referred to her as the energizer bunny, as the women never stops. We could just as easily find them sitting on mom’s deck with Holli making over-sized bubbles, coloring, watching the hummingbirds or steaming cleaning the carpet due to a pet accident, or making plans to encourage mom to get out and take a stroll by the beach. She “fixed” broken things, she had a tried and true remedy for almost everything, she stayed on top of everyone’s birthdays and always made a special effort, on behalf of both mom and herself, to celebrate them all. We trusted her with keys, credit cards, the mail, a car and most importantly with our mom who had dementia and was not in a position to let us know how things were going. She is worth her weight in gold, maybe twice her weight as she is small but so, so mighty, and she is family now. When we lost our mother, she made twenty-two centerpieces for her celebration of life and cried together with us at our shared loss. We would without any hesitation recommend her as caregiver for your loved one, and we wish you well in your journey to find someone as special as we did in these very difficult years.
