About Helen

I am passionate about helping others learn and strive to be able to explain the same topic in multiple ways. Everyone learns and comes to understand something differently, so it is crucial to know how to resonate with the person you are teaching. I currently have an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, and plan on going back to FTCC to get a degree in Business Management. I'd describe my personality as patient, empathetic, and personable. I like tutoring because I love to see someone light up when they accomplish and understand something they never thought they would. I'm looking for a job that allows me to impact others. I want to guide and uplift kids. I started tutoring when I was 15. I started with tutoring in math. The following year I also started tutoring students in English and the year after Physics. I carried this into college. In my spare time, I like to read and write. I love watching documentaries and am an active member in my church community.
