About Helena

I've always loved children! I started babysitting 3 of our neighbor's children at age 11. When I was 14, I was a summer nanny for a toddler. In college, I was a nanny, as well. I taught pre-kindergarten and high school English, then homeschooled my own children for 12 years. After that, I became an elementary school teacher for 7+ years. I love to organize, prepare food, tidy up, and involve children in everything. I love nature and reading books and singing songs. I try to find every opportunity to teach children about nature, science, word meanings, and the wonder of everyday things. I am calm and gentle and treat children with respect. At the same time, I do insist upon politeness and enforce boundaries for their own health, safety, and good character.
