My experience working with children started with babysitting in middle school. Later I took a course at Olympia High School in early childhood development which also gave me hands on experience in the classroom at a preschool. During this time I also nannied for many local families. One of the families I regularly cared for during those years had a daughter with disease requiring me to follow very specific guidelines for meal prep. I have experience shuttling children to and from school and activities, helping with homework, and doing light cleaning to ensure the home is left in a better condition. I enjoy doing activities with children that encourage creativity such as park outings, arts and crafts, games, make believe, dancing, and reading. I highly recommend Heidi! She is absolutely the best! My wife and I hired her to watch our young kids when they were ages 5 and 7. Our youngest had severe food allergies and special needs. Heidi followed specific food preparation instructions exactly as described. Talk about peace of mind! She is mature beyond her years with a kind heart, great intelligence, and highly responsible. We were selfishly sad to see her go off to college. Occasionally, when there was a conflict between our schedules and we'd hire someone else, they could never match Heidi's ability to interact with the kids. She didn't spend her time on her cell phone or our computer like some. Instead she painted, played games, discussed music and had a true fascination with getting to know our kids. If there were dishes in the sink - without prompting - they would be done when we got home. Do not hesitate to hire Heidi! She is one special lady and true salt of the earth!
