My degree is in Early Childhood Education. I am certified in CPR and First Aid, have negative TB test results, and have been fingerprinted through the Santa Cruz Police Dept. I have nannied for many families since 2004, from long-term, multi-year commitments, to just helping them out for the summer, and occasional babysitting as well. I have started with multiple families when their children were just newborns. I'm happy to do light housework for an additional cost (laundry, cleaning, dishes, meal preparation, etc.) I know a good amount of ASL, and have used it with multiple babies and toddlers over the years, as well as a basic amount of Spanish vocabulary. I am a Babywearing Educator, and a Car Seat Technician (CPST). I am trained in positive discipline. This allows for each child to receive an individualized way to work through tough feelings. This builds trust, communication, and mutual respect and their self esteem.

Heidi was an incredible caregiver to our son, starting when he was just five months old. She was with our family part-time for a year, and we couldn’t have asked for a more experienced, attentive, and forward-thinking nanny. As a first-time mom, I had countless questions, and Heidi was an invaluable resource, always offering thoughtful guidance and reassurance. One of the things we appreciated most about Heidi was how proactive she was in helping us adapt our son’s routine as his needs changed. Whether it was adjusting his nap schedule, introducing new developmental activities, or transitioning him to solids, she was always thinking ahead and offering thoughtful suggestions to support his growth. Her expertise and intuition made the whole process feel seamless, and we always felt confident that our son was in the best hands. We were truly sad to part ways when our son transitioned to full-time daycare, but we hope she’ll be available in the future if and when we need a nanny again! Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her.
