I have been working for 2 years as a home health aide, through Chinese American Planning Council, with an adult patient who has cerebral palsy and is on the autism spectrum. I began my journey for caring for people when I was 15; I spent a summer working at senior center CCM, helping maintain daily activities with elderly patients. I then began work at Boys and Girls Club for 2 summers. When I entered college, as a biology major, I worked as a tutor assisting my peers for a year to move into becoming a home health aide. My sister suffers from cerebral palsy and I grew up assisting in caring for her which allows me to empathize with everyone I work with and bring joy to continuing doing so.
