I started caring for seniors when I was 16 years old as a nurses aide in a nursing home. In my spare time, I like to garden, fish and hike with my dog Buddy. Our family met Heather through a Care Company for my mother with dementia/Alzheimer's. Heather provided amazing care for my mother specific to her disease and adjusted based on my mom's behaviors at a given moment. She further provided education and tips to the family on how to deal with specific behaviors being experienced. Mom responded positively to Heather on a routine basis, Heather was able to calm her and change the concerns/frustrations mom would raise in many moments. Further, when it came time to move mom to a memory care facility which was an extremely difficult decision for the family, Heather, via the company we were using, agreed to take on the task of actually taking mom over to move in and stay with her for hours. She further came for several weeks (via the company using) to stay for several hours as a familiar and trusted face during mom's transition to her new living situation. This provided extreme comfort to the family and to my mom.
